Young dancers shine at THS halftime shows

TORRINGTON - Students at the 28th Avenue Dance Studio highlighted several numbers in preparation for recital and competition season during halftimes for the Torrington High School basketball games over the past two months.

In January, dancers in Hip Hop classes for young folks ages six to eight and students ages nine and up performed two numbers choreographed by Taylor Bartel, assistant director and instructor at the 28th Avenue Dance Studio. In February, members of the Cheer III class at the studio performed a routine. The young cheerleaders are coached by Melanie Wolfe.

The 28th Avenue Dance Studio offers instruction in a variety of dance styles including ballet, pointe, jazz, tap, musical theatre, AcroDance, hip hop, lyrical and cheer classes.
