THS golfers shine at Tiger Invite

LUSK – Torrington High School golfers brought their A-game to the 2024 Tiger Spring Invite hosted by Niobrara County High School on Saturday, May 4.

The varsity boys’ squad captured first place with a cumulative total of 371 strokes, beating Glenrock (378) Sundance (388), Wright (390), the host school (433), Tongue River (438) and Moorcroft (496). 

Junior Mason Wilkes led the Blazers pack, advancing to fourth place on the leaderboard at 90 strokes. 

Sophomore Conner Correll tied for seventh place with a score of 92. Fellow sophomore Spencer Booth came in 10th place, grossing 94 strokes.

Mason Unverzagt, also a sophomore, secured 11th place, shooting 95.

Freshman Wyatt Lynde tied for 21st place at 101.

The Lady Blazers garnered second place as a team with 343 strokes. Three Torrington girls broke into the top 10, led by junior Madyson Banister in third place at 108.

Junior Sarah Birdsall took fifth place, shooting 117 with Madison Gibson in sixth place at 118. Zoe Hoff placed 18th at 157 strokes.
