Shrine Bowl roster released

TORRINGTON – Goshen  County is well represented on the Shrine Bowl roster released this week by the coaching staff for the South Team.

The head coach for the South Team is Torrington High School (THS) head football and track coach Russell Stienmetz.

The South Team’s roster includes THS seniors Tyler Bennick, Brayden Frazier, Bryce Hager and Trey Parriott, along with Southeast High School senior Tiegen Thompson.

Hager served as the Blazers’ quarterback and also played on the D-line. Bennick, Frazier and Parriott were each linemen on the Blazers’ defense and offense. Thompson played nose on offense for the Cyclones and defensive end.

Stienmetz also released the names of his coaching staff the previous week, including Torrington High School assistant football coaches Robb Nicolay and Ryan Workman and Lingle-Fort Laramie head football coach Brandon Gifford.

The staff also consists of Blaine Christensen, of Green River, and Encampment’s Hart Jordan. The South Team’s athletic trainer will be Torrington’s Emily Yorges.

The 51st Shrine Bowl takes place on June 8 at Natrona County High School in Casper. The event raises funds and awareness for the Shriners Hospitals for Children.

The South Team won the 50th Shrine Bowl, 27-24, in 2023.
