TORRINGTON – Memorial services for Samuel Robert “Bob” Huckfeldt, 85, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 19, 2024, at Our Savior Lutheran Church with Reverend Scott Firminhac officiating. Bob died October 6, 2024, at his home in Torrington and cremation has taken place. Memorials may be given to Our Savior Lutheran Church. Bob was born on July 21, 1939, in Torrington the child of Samuel and Georgina (Booth) Huckfeldt. He was baptized and given new life in Christ on September 10, 1939. He was confirmed by the Reverend William H. Borneman at the English Lutheran Church of Our Savior in Torrington on June 6, 1954. He was given 2 Corinthians 5:15 as his confirmation memory verse, where God reminded him that “Christ died for all, that those who live might no longer live for themselves but for him who for their sake died and was raised”.
Bob was united in holy marriage to Dorothy C. Kuntz on November 3, 1957. God blessed their union with five children: Roger, Steve and Brian of Torrington, Wyoming; Art and wife Cherie in Cheyenne, Wyoming; and Linda and husband Ron Caylor of Gillette, Wyoming.
God took Bob from this Valley of sorrow to Himself in Heaven on Sunday, October 6, 2024, having enjoyed God’s blessings in this life for eighty-five years. Bob was preceded in death by his parents and brother Fritz. He is survived by his wife; five children; thirteen grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; a half-brother Sam; and by many other relatives and friends.
The Lord gives and the Lord takes away; Blessed be the name of the Lord. I heard a voice “blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on. “Blessed indeed” says the Spirit, “That they may rest from their labors, for their deeds follow them!” Revelation 14:13.
