FORT LARAMIE – Memorial services for Neal Alan “Stoney” Stone, 79, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, September 27, 2025, at the Fort Laramie Community Center with Pastor RJ Hesketh officiating. Neal died September 6, 2025, at Torrington Community Hospital and cremation has taken place. Memorials may be given to the Waggin Tails Animal Shelter. Neal was born January 1, 1946, in Exeter, New Hampshire the son of George and Ella (Fortier) Stone. He grew up and attended school in Exeter, graduating high school in 1965. He married and later divorced. While he was married, he entered the US Army and served two years in Vietnam. After his discharge in 1972, he became a police officer and served for 37 years in New Hampshire and Florida. He married Debra Laware in 1987. He retired and they moved to Fort Laramie in 2006. Debra died in 2008. He served as a municipal judge for the Town of Fort Laramie for several years. He retired in November of 2024.
Neal loved to play drums in pipe bands and other bands. He was a member of the Guernsey VFW and the Torrington American Legion.
Neal is survived by his wife Belinda Stone of Fort Laramie; a son Troy Stone and daughter Tori Jutras of New Hampshire; sister Patricia and brother Paul Stone of Florida and a brother Lee Stone of New Hampshire; five grandchildren and one great grandchild. He was preceded in death by parents and his second wife Debra.
