Keith Allen Goering

November 4, 1952--September 23, 2026

Keith Goering, age 73, (formerly of Torrington, WY) passed into the loving arms of our Lord at his home (in hospice) in Brigham City, Utah, September 23, 2026.  His sister ("SisterSue") was with him when he took his final breath.

Keith loved life.  He especially loved the solitude of the wide-open spaces as he grew up on his Grandpa Floyd's ranch. He was truly in his element when he rode his horses, helped work cattle, and repaired fences, always with his pistol on his hip. He'd say, "I'm just an old, red-necked cowboy."

He was a man who led a miraculous and admirable life. Even though Keith was the victim of a severe motorcycle/car crash, at age of 17, (August 14, 1970) in Torrington, and he was not expected to survive, the Lord had other plans (the miracle: Jeremiah 29:11).  Although Keith's life was filled with excruciating pain from the time of the wreck until he took has last breath of life, he was never one to complain, nor feel sorry for himself (the admirable). Once his feet hit solid ground, he was seldom idle.

Keith attended Eastern Wyoming College (Torrington); graduated from Northwest Community College (Powell, WY); graduated from Aviation Maintenance School (Sidney, NE); received his A&P certification from the Federal Aviation Administration; and worked on military airplanes in more than 27 locations in the USA; in addition, he worked in Japan, Greece, and Germany.

The following comments are from folks who were blessed to know him: "He was a true cowboy at heart." "He was an 'on my own terms' kind of guy."  "He was one of the good ones."  "Keith was a strong, independent man who embodied the spirit of the American West. He knew who he was and what he wanted. He walked his own path." "He was independent; generous; kindhearted; and loved to flirt with the girls."  "He was certainly a true cowboy who embodied the cowboy spirit. I thank the Lord for taking that cowboy to ride His Range in the Sky!"

Keith was preceded in death by his Grandpa Floyd Goering; (dad) Dale Goering; (mom) Ruth Goering; and (older sister) Katherine Marie Reasch. He is survived by his younger sister, Conni Sue Rutar (Gregory) of Lingle, WY; niece Lisa Kay Hansen (Jeremiah), and great-niece Hope Hansen of Florida; and his very dear and loving friends "who became his family" in Brigham City, Utah, Nancy, Lawren, and Julie (Green).

Keith wished to be cremated, and asked that his ashes be scattered at the (John) Hunton Meadows Ranch where he was raised. There will be no public services, his ashes will be spread by the family per his request.
