POWELL – Lee Sumio Hayano, 92, passed away peacefully on September 7, 2024, at Powell Valley Care Center in Powell, Wyoming.
Lee, the son of Sumino and Jusuke Hayano, was born on August 14, 1932, in Henry, Nebraska. He married Betty Hara and they resided in Torrington. Three sons, Tod, Joel and Kent completed their family.
Lee worked as an electrician for the Wyoming National Guard his whole life. He retired at age 55 with a final rank of Master Sergeant. He enjoyed walking, gardening, reading, and doing crossword puzzles. He loved playing with his granddaughter, Kiyoko Hayano, whenever she visited.
He is survived by three sons Tod, Joel and Kent; one grandchild, Kiyoko; and his sister-in-law, Anna Tomoi of Mitchell NE.
There will be a family only graveside service in December.
Cremation has taken place by Thompson Funeral Home in Powell.
