TORRINGTON – Kevin Charles Watson, age 64, of Torrington, passed away on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at the Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland, Colorado, surrounded by his loving family.

Kevin was born on Saturday, August 20, 1960, in Pekin, Illinois, to parents, Charles Edward and Glennis LaJune (Martin) Watson, who instilled in him a strong work ethic and a deep love for life. After finishing school, Kevin spent many years traveling and working in a variety of jobs, making friends wherever he went. His journey eventually led him to Union Pacific Railroad, where he dedicated much of his career, retiring in 2024.

In 1985, Kevin met and married Loretta Ausmus, and together they raised four loving children: Candy and Ryan Larsen of Douglas, Elizabeth and Jason Feronti of Casper, Sarah and Tim Derrico of Casper, and Cody and Dane Watson of Independence, Kansas. Kevin was a proud and loving father, who shared many cherished moments with his children and family.

Kevin had a wide range of passions. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, riding his motorcycle, and restoring cars. His love for adventure took him on trips across the country, and he found great joy in visiting the beach, reading fantasy novels with his son, and exploring new places. Above all, Kevin was a man of warmth, humor, and generosity, always ready to lend a hand or a listening ear.

Kevin was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Glennis.

He is survived by his children (listed above); ten grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and his beloved siblings, Scott and Tonya Watson of Pekin, Illinois, Lori and Victor Temple of Douglas, Marty and Kim Watson of Pekin, and Jeremy and Samantha Cross of Pekin; as well as extended family, and many friends who knew him as a kind, loyal, and irreplaceable presence in their lives.

The family plans to host a celebration of life at a later date, details to be announced.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that friends send beer to Torrington, Pekin, and Douglas as they’ll be hard-pressed to know what to do without Kevin’s presence among them.

Kevin’s laughter, generosity, and love of life will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in peace.

The Gorman Funeral Homes-Converse Chapel of Douglas is in charge of the arrangements.
