TORRINGTON – James P. Sothan, age 78, of Torrington passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 6, 2024.
Born December 16, 1945, in Plainview, Nebraska to Herbert E. and Elizabeth M. (Broemer) Sothan. James married Dace L. (Classen) Sothan, May 31, 1963. It was James’ wish for all to remember him as he was in life.
No services will be held. Cremation has taken place. James enjoyed the great outdoors, the ocean, fishing, camping, hunting and tinkering in his garage.
James was a master of many crafts and trades with an emphasis on mechanics, machining, welding and fabrication. James was employed by Holy Sugar Corporation until his retirement.
Survived by his son, Jimmy Sothan (Lisa); six grandchildren; Devon, Tara, Zachery, Dace, Daniel, Cody and 10 great grandchildren.
James was preceded in death by his daughter; Dawn Sothan and one great grandchild.
His Parents; Herbert E. and Elizabeth M. Sothan. Sisters; Juanita, Caroline, Linda and Darlene. Brothers; Carl, Donald (Donny), Jerald (Jerry) and Doug. James will be missed greatly by his family and friends.
