FORT LARAMIE – Funeral services for Betty Jean (Sherrill) Teeters, 83, will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at the East Gate Baptist Church with Pastor Tim Sparks officiating.
Burial will follow in the Fort Laramie Cemetery at 12:30 p.m. and the casket will be closed. Betty peacefully joined her Lord and Savior June 11, 2025, at the Goshen Care Center.

Betty was born June 18, 1941, in Torrington to Clara Louise Elizabeth (Dreier) and Lloyd Ralph Sherrill. Betty went to school, grades first through eighth in Fort Laramie and graduated from Lingle High School in 1959. She worked as a secretary and part time bookkeeper for Pinnacle Bank for 35 years altogether. She also worked for Olson Tire and Lamb Construction, also as a bookkeeper and secretary.
Betty’s hobbies included: reading, quilting, visiting friends and yard work. She was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church and East Gate Baptist Church. She married Joel Edward Teeters on June 23, 2005. They enjoyed four years together as husband and wife.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband Joel, her parents, two brothers and two sisters. She is survived by her sister, Sylvia Smith, stepson Rick (Linda Sue) Teeters, six step grandchildren, several step great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews.
