This week's stop took me to Lira's Restaurant in Lingle, a fixture of the local dining scene since 1973 that plenty of the Telegram readers have visited for decades. For me, though, it was a first — I ordered a combination plate of a crispy taco and an enchilada, plus a tostada — and I left with a new answer to a question I didn't know I had: what do you call food that isn't quite standard “authentic” Mexican, but isn't Tex-Mex either?

A California woman is coming to Goshen County this week hoping to track down surviving paintings by her great-grandmother, a pioneer schoolteacher who taught in one- and two-room rural schoolhouses around Torrington and Lingle in the early to mid-1900s — and who supported herself in part by selling her own artwork locally.

The Torrington-Lingle FFA livestock judging team will open its fall season Saturday at the Casper College Fall Judging Contest, an event Casper College hosts primarily for its own collegiate judging program but opens to area FFA chapters and 4-H teams preparing for the national circuit.

WyoBrick Fest returned to the LaGrange Memorial Building on Sept. 5, filling the hall with Lego displays, vendors and building competitions for the event's second year. Organizers estimated between 350 and 370 people attended this year, up from the nearly 250 who came to the inaugural event, according to a Facebook post from Wyoming Brickworks.
