The Torrington Rotary Club donated $400 to Lincoln Elementary School last week to support the school’s pumpkin patch.
The pumpkin patch has been a fall tradition at Lincoln for about 10 years. Volunteers pick the pumpkins in Mitchell, Neb., with help from high school students, and haul them back to the school by the trailerload. Lincoln students then get a day to pick their own pumpkins from the patch on the school’s lawn.
