GO GOSHEN PROGRESS PROGRAM | PART 5

Fort Laramie’s latest Progress Program grant replaces keys with keypads

Posted 10/30/26

The town’s newest Progress Program project is on its own front door. Keypad locks are going onto the Fort Laramie town offices, replacing a set of keys that no one can fully account for.

“We don’t know how many keys are out there, and that’s kind of a security concern,” said Gabrielle David, deputy town clerk and municipal court clerk. “A lot of stuff in here is public record, but there’s also documents with people’s private information and we just don’t really like risking that.”

The Go Goshen Progress Program awarded the town $9,820.16 for the locks in fiscal year 2026. Grants are paid as reimbursements after the work is done, and the program’s list shows nothing paid on this one yet.
