The Industrial Siting Council (ISC) will be holding a meeting on February 16. The ISC reviews the socio-economic and environment impacts of industrial facilities before issuing a permit for construction, according to their website.

U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) today announced that it is hiring 40 Climate Change Fellows to help with the record numbers of applications from farmers, ranchers and rural small businesses seeking funding for clean energy projects under the Rural Energy for America Program (REAP). The new positions are being funded by the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), the nation’s largest-ever investment in combatting the climate crisis, a key pillar of Bidenomics and part of the Investing in America agenda.

On December 27, 2023, Secretary of State Chuck Gray sent a letter to U.S. Postal Service Postmaster General Louis DeJoy opposing the Postal Service’s proposal to move mail processing operations from Cheyenne to Denver. Secretary Gray’s letter came in response to the Postal Service’s announcement of its mail processing facility review of processing operations at the Cheyenne Processing and Distribution Center in Cheyenne, and its proposal to move mail processing operations from the Cheyenne Processing and Distribution Center to the Denver Processing and Distribution Center.
Wyoming Game and Fish biologists and technicians have spent the last year and a half feeding four captive bobcats ground meat infected with chronic wasting disease. The study isn’t to see if bobcats can contract the disease — it hasn’t been shown to cross the species barrier to carnivores like big cats — the goal is to see what comes out the other end.
“About 31% of all traffic crash fatalities in the United States involve drunk drivers with blood alcohol contents of .08 g/dL or higher. In 2021, there were 13,384 people killed in these preventable crashes,” according to the United States Department of Transportation. “In fact, on average over the 10-year period from 2012-2021, about 10,850 people died every year in drunk-driving crashes,” continues the report.
