YODER – The Southeast Lady Cyclones had 2A’s top-ranked Pine Bluffs in their sights, down 17-14 in the third quarter, but the Lady Hornets pulled away to get the win in Yoder on Friday, 45-29.
The Lady Cyclones got off to a slow start. They were outscored 12-2 in the first frame. They battled back in the second to put up six points to the Lady Hornets’ five, heading into the half down 17-8.
In the third quarter, Southeast scored the first six points to bring the score to 17-14 with 5:35 remaining in the frame. The Lady Cyclones hit a run at the end of the third, taking a 29-18 lead into the fourth, and they continued that run to cruise to the win.
Hailey Anderson recorded a double-double for the Lady Cyclones. She amassed 11 points and 10 rebounds. Seven of her boards came on the offensive glass.
On senior night against the Lady Hornets, Southeast’s lone senior, Emily Buchanan, turned in nine points and 11 rebounds. She added a team-high three assists to her stat sheet.
