For 95 years, the same water tower stood over Yoder. By the time crews took it down in 2022, keeping the 1927 tower and a second tank built in 1981 in service had become a losing battle.
“It was costing us a fortune to keep those old towers serviceable,” said Mayor Bob Oaks.
