LFL/SE wrestlers undefeated at SEWAC Quad

LUSK – The Lingle-Fort Laramie/Southeast girls’ and boys’ wrestling teams trounced the competition at the SEWAC Quad hosted by Niobrara County High School on Tuesday.

Both the boys’ and girls’ squads beat each dual opponent standing in their way –solid momentum for LFL/SE with the postseason less than two weeks away.

In the boys’ competition, LFL/SE went undefeated, winning the first dual against Burns/Pine Bluffs by a commanding 52-24 margin.

Showing no mercy in the second dual, the LFL/SE boys’ crushed Glenrock, 63-6 and went on to overwhelm Niobrara County, 72-0.

In the girls’ duals, LFL/SE also went undefeated. The girls kicked the evening off with a decisive 30-15 victory against Burns/Pine Bluffs. LFL/SE soundly defeated Glenrock, 48-12, in the subsequent dual.

Leaving it all on the mats in the third dual, the LFL/SE girls swept Niobrara County, 48-0.

Eight LFL/SE boy grapplers posted undefeated records at the SEWAC Quads with the upperclassmen dominating the mats.

Seniors Wyatt Sylvester (126 pounds), William Feyereisen (138), Kaleb Brothwell (144), Lance York (157) and Tiegan Thompson (175) each tallied 3-0 records. Senior Jaden VanGundy went 2-1 at 165 pounds.

Juniors Nathan Fish (120 pounds), Louden Bremer (150) and Carter Blevins (190) also finished the event with undefeated records, along with Alec DeMarce (190 pounds) and sophomore Gideon Boyd (106). 

Sophomore Colter McFarlin (215 pounds) went 2-1.

Five LFL/SE girls earned undefeated records at the SEWAC Quad – junior Grace Gibson (105 pounds) and sophomores Kennedi Blevins (110), Laney Grubbs (125), Avery VanGundy (135) and Hallie Fuller (140).

Senior Isabella Spears (145 pounds), sophomore Kaiten Schilreff (130) and freshman KayDee Gladson (155) each went 2-1.
