WINDSOR – Jimmie Lee Keller, 86, passed away on September 27, 2025, at his home in Windsor, Colorado, with his family present. He was born on April 11, 1939, in Minatare in the family farmhouse to Harry and Lydia (Feagler) Keller. He grew up in Lingle where he graduated from high school before beginning college at the University of Wyoming. His college career was cut short to help his dad on the family farm with beet harvest.

Jim farmed with his dad and brother-in-law, raising sugar beets, in Wyoming for many years. He married his high school sweetheart, Dorothea Hill in 1959 and they had two daughters, Colleen and Jolene. After the farms were sold in 1984, Jim worked in real estate relocating to Northern Colorado and Las Vegas. He was an entrepreneur and community supporter serving with the Sertoma Club, Elks and a member of the Milliken Presbyterian Church. He later became an owner-operator truck driver before retiring in 2014.

Jimmie lost his first wife in 2011 and was lucky to find love a second time with Sylvia Josephine “Jo” Pennington whom he married September 28, 2014. He enjoyed golfing, motorcycles, snowmobiles and was a very good athlete during high school, playing quarterback for the football team, and basketball and baseball. He loved animals all his life, from raising cattle during 4-H as a youth to having pets throughout his life, including Toby, the little white pup he shared with Jo.

Thankful to have shared his life are his wife, Jo Keller, daughters, Colleen Ferguson and Jolene (Wesley) Mayfield, three grandchildren, Joshua (Jennifer) Hunter, Kyle Ferguson and Jacob Mayfield, two great-granddaughters, Lydia and Alyssa Hunter, stepson Mark Bennett, brother-in-law Dan Pennington, one niece, two nephews and numerous cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Dorothea Keller and a sister, Joann Bower.

Private family interment will be held at Lakeview Cemetery, Windsor. Jim’s Life Celebration will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, October 3, 2025 at Milliken Presbyterian Church with a luncheon to follow. Memorial gifts may be made to “NOCO Humane Society” or “Milliken Presbyterian Church” in care of Young’s Funeral Service, 102 E. Charlotte Street, Johnstown, Colorado 80534.
