PHOENIX, Ariz. – Anna Belle (Latta) Schmidt, Phoenix, died March 4, 2026. Anne was born August 1, 1937, on the family homestead six miles south of Fort Laramie to William Alexander and Daisy Mildred Latta. She was the sixth of twelve children. She is survived by her daughter Stephanie Marie Pappas of Thornton, Colorado, three grandchildren, Shad Ortiz, Aja Queen, Ashleigh Strovolidis, two great grandchildren Kade Hayes and Taso Strovolidis; one brother: Alan, two sisters: Alyce and Eva.
Anne was preceded in death by her parents, husband Carl Paul Schmidt, five brothers: William, Harry, Larry, Robert, infant brother and two sisters: Marguerite and Mary.
In high school at Fort Laramie, Anne was selected as the Drum Majorette for the high school marching band. She was elected Honor Queen of Job’s Daughters at Bethel 34 in Guernsey.
Anne was employed by United Airlines and World Airlines for thirty-eight years and was known to be a highly motivated and creative professional coordinator, flight attendant, administrator, and senior accountant.
Following retirement, Anne qualified as a Medication Administration Person in Colorado and Arizona so she could provide care to individuals in their homes or in assisted care facilities. She was acknowledged as going beyond her job requirements to providing the personal care given a parent.
Anne was interred at the Olinger Crown Hill Mortuary & Cemetery Mausoleum in the Chapel at Wheat Ridge, Colorado 80033.
