FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Joseph Leo Stavnes, 75, passed away March 13, 2023, at his Fort Collins home with his beloved family by his side. Joe was born Aug. 15, 1947, in Mobridge, South Dakota, to Sigurd and Aileen (Brockamp) Stavnes. Joe graduated high school in Timber Lake, South Dakota in 1965 and was quickly drafted by the U.S. Army in 1966. He served honorably from October 1966 to October 1968 as an artilleryman. Joe was a decorated Vietnam Veteran.

DALLAS, TEXAS – Michael Martin Schaneman, long-time resident of Lake Dallas, passed away March 5, 2023, at the age of 72. Funeral services were held at the Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home in Lewisville on Saturday, March 11, 2023. A second celebration of life will take place in Torrington, Wyoming, in the late spring/early fall at a time and place to be determined. Cremation has taken place.

TORRINGTON – Shirley Irene (Pugsley) Farrell, 86, passed away at her home on Feb. 20, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 27, at the First Congregational Church with Pastor Matt Gordon officiating. Burial will take place in the Valley View Cemetery. The casket will open at the church one hour prior to services.
CHEYENNE – Russell Clair Marlatt, 74, died on Feb. 19, 2023, in Cheyenne. A memorial service will be held in Torrington at Colyer Funeral Home at 10 a.m. on Friday, March 3, 2023. Cremation has taken place and donations can be made to the North Christian Church of Cheyenne or Evangelical Free Church of Cheyenne.
TORRINGTON – Memorial services for Sydney Carole Johnson, 69, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 25, 2023, at All Saints Episcopal Church with Reverend Diane Carleton officiating. Sydney died at her home on Feb. 9, 2023, and cremation has taken place. Memorials may be given to the All Saints Community Garden. GUERNSEY – Marlan “Mutts” King greeted his heavenly family Friday evening Feb. 10, 2023, at home in Guernsey, surrounded by his wife, kids, and extended family. He loved his job at the Sunrise mine and would talk to anyone about it for hours. He enjoyed elk hunting in Jackson in the winter and fishing in Snowy Range during the summer. He spent his retirement time running a scrap metal business and helping people tear down and discard stuff. He believed in the old fashion style of helping friends and family with no expectation of anything in return. He loved his family very much and would do anything for them.
LOVLEAND, Colo. – Anabeth Sparks James passed away with her family by her side at home in Loveland on Feb. 8, 2023. She was born on Dec. 7, 1933, in Torrington, Wyoming to Earl Grant and Analeta (Lawhead) Sparks.

TORRINGTON – Ricky Dean Rinehart, 72, passed away peacefully on Feb. 13, 2023 at Community Hospital. Rick was born April 19, 1950, in Torrington. He is survived by his wife Paula; brother Tab and Angie of Torrington; and numerous nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews; and one great-great-niece. He was preceded in death by his parents Elmer and Dorothy; a brother Bruce; and a nephew Christopher Leake.
WHEATLAND – “What a surprise!” may have been the first words to reach newborn Davey Parkin’s ears. He had a brand-new brother, Donny who had just been born eight minutes before, and most believed the “birthing” was done—even though his mother had been big as a house for quite a while.
WHEATLAND – “Omigosh, there’s another one!” was the announcement that Danny Parkin was about to make his arrival into the world. While all available Torrington hospital staff were attending to his two older brothers-Donny, 16 minutes older, and Davey, eight minutes older, a young nurse’s aide was the first to notice that there was another baby coming also.
