TORRINGTON – A graveside service for Wesley E. Armstrong, 94, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, May 27, 2022 at the Valley View Cemetery in Torrington  with Pastor Jim Hofmann of the Nazarene Church in Torrington officiating. 

Wesley Armstrong passed away on Tuesday, May 24, 2022 at the Goshen Healthcare Community in Torrington. 

Wesley was born to Lester and Adeline (Harshberger) Armstrong at their home near Hawk Springs on Monday June 20, 1927. Growing up he was very talented being a self-taught mechanic at the age of 12. 

He married Betty Stuck on June 28, 1948 and born to this union were two sons. 

In the 1940s and 1950s Wesley worked for various farmers. In the 1950s he took a radio and television course through the mail and then started repairing radios, TV’s and appliances. In the 1960s he owned and operated AAA Furnace and Sheet Metal Shop. In the 1970s he started working for Kansas-Nebraska Gas Company until his retirement. 

He was a hardworking man and followed through with what he set out to do. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and one brother. 

He is survived by his wife Betty of 73 years, sons, Brian (Jeana) and Tom (Ronda); sisters, Barbara and Glee and brother David. Grandchildren, Melissa, Corey, Dori, Ryan and Rick; great grandchildren, Justin, Landon, Paige, Payton and Felix and numerous cousins.
