James (Jim) Lee Kirchner

PUEBLO, Colorado – Jim passed away unexpectedly.  He is survived by his bride, Jan Kirchner, daughter Dawn Kirchner, son Jared Kirchner, Bonus daughter Jamie (Matt) Webb, and Bonus son, David (McKaila) McCoy; 7 grandchildren: Randy Tucker, Kyler (Cheyenne) Webb, Rhylee Webb, Ryker Webb, Everlee Webb, Carter McCoy, and Moxlee Webb. Siblings: Anna Eaton, Mike (Sally) Kirchner and Kent (Paula) Kirchner.  Including many nieces, nephews, cousins. and beloved dog, Neeko.

Jim was born and raised in Torrington. In his early years, Jim worked many different jobs: Leo Ranch, Couplamatic Systems, Holly Sugar Factory, 3 Lazy S Ranch, and the Eagle Ranch. Jim enlisted in the United States Navy and served on the USS Oriskany. 

He volunteered with the Lyman, Nebraska. Fire Department; he was Santa Clause for Shop with a Cop, a Past Trustee for Elks # 90 and was a member of the American Legion Post # 2 Pueblo, CO. and the Moose Lodge # 664 Torrington.

Jim worked as a Building Engineer and Apartment Building Manager in Dallas, and a Building Engineer in Denver before moving to Hawk Springs, where he met his bride, Jan Armour. They moved to Pueblo, Colorado in 2001 and were married on September 16, 2008. 

Jim retired as Storm Water Inspector for the City of Pueblo in July 2021. 

He enjoyed camping, cooking, gardening, grilling, nature, and the outdoors.

Jim’s life and legacy will always be remembered and cherished by the ones he loved, and his smile and laughter will live on forever.

Celebration of Life is Sunday, October 8, 2023 at 1 p.m. Pueblo Elks Lodge # 90, 501 N. Santa Fe Ave, Pueblo, Colorado.                                                                 

Inurnment will take place at Valley View Cemetery in Torrington, Wyoming at a later date.
