I’ve driven past La Familia Prado more times than I can count, but it took a nudge from readers to get me through the door. After a recent installment of “What’s Ryan Tryin’?,” readers told me I needed to try it. So on the last day of September, I did.
The family-owned Mexican restaurant at 1242 Main St. has been open since 2000, and it is a family operation in every sense. Owner Caroline Prado runs it with her daughter, Mara Hernandez; her son, Roger Prado; Mara’s husband, Merced Hernandez, who cooks; and her grandson, Jordan Prado, who waited on me.
