TORRINGTON – Memorial services for Delores Mae Dennis, 93, will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, October 20, 2023 at the Colyer Funeral Home Chapel with Marty Jungck officiating. Burial will follow in the Valley View Cemetery. Delores died September 22, 2023 in Farmington, New Mexico and cremation has taken place. Delores was born July 25, 1930 in Alfred, North Dakota to John and Pauline Heier. She lived in Jamestown, North Dakota until her marriage to Keith Dennis on June 11, 1947. They moved to El Paso, Texas while Keith served in the US Army. Mike was born in El Paso in March 1948 and Norma in October 1949. They moved back to North Dakota in 1950 where Keith attended college in Valley City. They moved to Torrington in 1954 where Keith had a teaching position. Delores got a job at the hospital and later became a LPN. She bought interest in the Dairy Queen and later bought the Monroe Plastic Store. Delores did private nursing and took care of many people after she retired from her businesses. Delores moved to Farmington in May of 2023.
Delores is survived by her son Michael (Susan) Dennis of Torrington; daughter Norma (Kenneth) Russell of Farmington, New Mexico; grandson Greg Russell of Riverside, California; granddaughter Eve Dennis of Torrington; and two great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Keith and her two brothers Roy and Ray.
