WHEATLAND – The Lingle-Fort Laramie High School volleyball team overcame a 2-1 deficit to defeat Kaycee, the top seed from the Northeast Quadrant, 3-2 to advance to the Class 1A State Tournament in Casper.
The Lady Doggers opened the 1A East Regional Tournament with a 3-0 (25-18, 25-14, 25-18) loss to the Upton Bobcats.
Lingle got off to a quick start, scoring the first four points of the match, but Upton countered with four straight points of its own.
L-FL senior Ashley Riley recorded a kill on the ensuing point to give her team a 5-4 lead. The Lady Doggers held a one-point advantage until a second 4-0 spurt by the Bobcats gave the No. 2 seed a 10-7 lead.
