TORRINGTON – Get ready to participate in the 5K Fun Run taking place on April 27, 2024, in Torrington. The run is sponsored by various businesses across the county to raise funds and awareness for the Goshen County Task Force on Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault. The event spokesperson, Judy Cummings, said that the Task Force is dedicated to helping Goshen County residents in domestic violence situations.
The event will be hosted by SONRise Church, located at 1100 East Valley Road. Participants can pick up their bags on Friday, April 26th, from 5 to 6 p.m., or on Saturday, between 9 and 10 a.m. The race will start at 10 am, followed by lunch, and other festivities. SONRise Church will provide lunch, and the route will have hydration and snack stops for the participants’ convenience.
The registration fee for adults is $50 per person, and kids 12 and under can run free of charge, accompanied by a parent or guardian. The registration will remain open until the day of the race, and Judy Cummings encourages you to register before April 6 to secure your proper tee-shirt size.
All participants will receive a souvenir tee and an event bag filled with goodies donated by local merchants. The race’s proceeds will go entirely to the Goshen County Task Force, which provides help, safe harbor, counseling, and support for those in need, regardless of any defining measure.
