Southeast tracksters open season at Morrill Early Bird

MORRILL – The Southeast High School Cyclone and Lady Cyclone track teams kicked off the 2024 spring season at the Early Bird Invitational in Morrill, Nebraska on Saturday.

The Lady Cyclones placed sixth overall with 49 points. Tylar Stoddard snapped up gold in the girls' triple jump, hitting a mark of 32 feet, 3 1/4 inches.

Additional girls' top-eight finishes included second place for Harper Boche in the shot put. Boche went on to secure fourth place in the discus. Kaycee Kosmicki captured second place in the 200-meters. 

Haylee Ekwall secured third place in the shot put. Sasha Haines placed fourth in the 100-meters and fifth in the 200-meters.  

Angie Logsdon snapped up fourth place in the pole vault. Logsdon also earned fifth place in the triple jump. 

In distance events, Anna Hartman placed sixth in the 800-meters and seventh in the 1600-meters.

Stoddard came in seventh place in the 200-meters and eighth in the 100-meters.

Two athletes on the boys' squad snagged top-eight finishes. Wyatt Gladson took seventh place in the 200-meters. Gladson, Lance York, Trevor Jolovich and Liam Haas placed eighth in the 4x100-meter relay.
