TORRINGTON – The Torrington High School Lady Blazers soccer team entered the seventh week of the regular season with two conference games.
Torrington traveled to play Rawlins on Friday, May 2, with the Lady Blazers coming up short, 3-0.
On Saturday, Torrington hosted the Worland Lady Warriors. While the final score favored Worland, 7-0, the Lady Blazers made positive plays on both offense and defense, especially in the first half against the Lady Warriors

A gritty Torrington defense shut out Worland for the first 39 minutes, 48 seconds of regulation.
Sophomore Madison Hatch, senior Kayden Tucker, junior Salma Beltran and junior Natalie Long kept the backfield clear for most of the opening half.
At midfield, junior Hallie Fuller cleared the ball from the Lady Blazer’s half of the pitch with powerful kicks on two occasions.
Junior goalie Avary Rising scooped up nine saves in the first half.
On offense, Torrington made several strikes into Worland’s territory, resulting in a shot on goal by junior Kennedi Blevins midway into the first half.
Worland broke through Torrington’s defense with 12 seconds remaining in the first half to pull ahead, 1-0, at halftime.
A five-goal run by the Lady Warriors early in the second half clinched the win for Worland on the scoreboard.
The Torrington defense regained its footing, with Rising totaling 11 saves in the second half. Beltran and Fuller continued to clear the back and midfield. Tucker deflected a penalty shot in the backfield late in the second half.
Offensively, junior Natalie Lira struck deep into Worland territory for a shot on goal in the second half.
