Hi my name is Stephanie Anderson

My name is Stephanie Anderson. I moved to Torrington in June 2003, from Mammoth Lakes, California.

I grew up in San Diego, graduating from Kearny High School in 1990. I became a first-time mom in the fall of 1991. I’ve worked in different capacities over the years, I was the manager of an appliance store, I was a loan processor, and worked as a housekeeper for the Holiday Inn Express.

My most recent employment, prior to being hired on at the Torrington Telegram, was at St. Joseph’s Children’s Home, where I worked off and on since 2007, as a Family Teacher.

I’ve been married for 10 years and have known my husband all of my life. We have a large blended family, with 10 kids. Our two youngest kids will graduate from Torrington High School (THS) in May of this year, they will be our 6th and 7th kids to celebrate that milestone from THS.

We as parents are also very excited to finally be graduating from THS. When I’m not working, I enjoy reading, cooking, watching movies and sports, and spending time with my family.

I have also enjoyed writing over the years which led me to apply for the opening at The Telegram. I am so excited to have this opportunity and the new experiences that await me in the capacity of journalism, reporting and writing for our town paper, along with getting to know my community from a different point of view.

Becoming familiar with the people and activities in our immediate and surrounding areas will create inspiration and backdrops for new and interesting ideas to write about.

I hope to serve the community with insight, to bring important topics to the table and give back to a community that has given so much to me and my family.
