Big dreams in a small town

TORRINGTON – When Linda Meyer was younger, she dreamed of being a businesswoman, living in a large city. But, as fate would have it, she stumbled across a farmer, fell in love, got married and had three successful children. Linda, along with her husband, Brett, own and operate their own seed business, Meyer Seeds Co. and the nest has since emptied leaving Linda a desire to help others and a lot of time on her hands.

Linda found a love for printed products while working a job while attending college in Casper.

“I’ve always been fascinated with and loved print – banners, posters and that type of marketing,” Linda explained. “God just opened an opportunity for me to do this. I’m not raising children anymore, so I had the opportunity to do something I would like to do. I’ve had the blessing of supporting my husband in his farming and seed business with Meyer Seeds, and God just opened this door I could step into. I’m really thankful for it.”

For a couple of years, the Meyers tossed around the idea of owning a print shop and, as opportunity would have it, sometimes the best blessings are worth waiting for. There was even an attempt to purchase an already established print shop, but the deal fell through. As another door opened for Linda, Torrington Office Supply announced their intended closure. Another print store in Wheatland also announced their closure, leaving Linda with a big city opportunity in small-town Torrington.

“I really enjoy giving businesses and the general public – just anybody – something they need,” Linda said. “Whether it’s a banner for marketing or a beautiful invitation, I just love handing something to somebody and seeing their face. I loved when it happened to me, and I want to give that feeling to anybody who’s helped me along the way.”

Linda won’t be going it alone. Stephanie Marks, who has 11 years of printing experience, will be working alongside her at M-Prints91.

“Stephanie has always been there for me. She figures out how to supply me with what I need, whether it’s personal – like when I did the bridal shower for my daughter or baby showers – or with my seed business. She would step up and help me out with whatever I needed, and I just love that,” Linda said. “Now Stephanie is working with me, and I am so thankful because that’s what she does – she steps up and helps people out, and I want to be a part of it. That’s kind of how I really got into the print business.”

Linda praised Marks’ customer service skills and relationship-building abilities.

“Stephanie has been in printing for 11 years, and she’s fantastic at making relationships with people. She cares about what they want, she cares about what they need, and she finds a way to make it happen. She’s done that for me for many years, and I trust that. I’m so thankful to have her work with me,” Linda said.

The new business will offer a wide range of printing services to meet community needs.

“In printing, there are so many opportunities. You can do so many things it’s hard to even get a list going, but we at this point will be doing paper, envelopes, invitations, signs, banners and vinyl,” Linda said. “The print business – you just have so many avenues to give anybody really what they’re needing. And that’s the fun part. Really, that’s the fun part.”

For Linda, the venture is about more than just business – it’s about connection and service.

“The desire and the joy of helping people. And the other part of it is just connecting with people. When you’re fulfilling somebody’s needs or what they’re looking for, I mean, that’s just a really special connection. I just love connecting with people,” Linda said. “That’s a bigger part of it – what’s your deep motivation for doing this? Well, connecting with people and helping them out. That’s fantastic.”

The business name itself tells a story close to Linda’s heart.

“I love a story. I absolutely love a story, especially the name. If I was going to come into work daily for however many years, I wanted a story with the name. M is for Meyer – Meyer and Marks. You know, Brett and I own the business, and Stephanie is such a valuable, invaluable part of it. So it’s Meyer, Meyer and Marks, but it’s M. And then Prints, obviously. And then 91 is for Psalms 91. Brett and I pray that together every morning. It’s a prayer of protection, and I really believe it facilitated all the things that brought us to this point. I’m just really thankful for that,” Linda explained.

Linda sees divine timing in how everything has come together for M-Prints91.

“Jesus rose from the dead when he was 33. He died and rose again. Brett and I are married 33 years. Stephanie is 33 years old. And my kids’ sports number was 33 – all three of them. It’s just so many God opportunities. God literally opens the doors,” Linda said. “So many times, I had to go, ‘Okay, I’m going.’ Like when Stephanie decided to come and join me, and then that weekend, she was looking up the equipment for me. And on Monday, like three days later, we found out the Wheatland print shop was going out of business. And we purchased all of the equipment there. So, it just lines up. It just lines up and lines up.”

Linda believes there’s still strong demand for printed materials in today’s digital world.

“With a few print shops out there, it’s still so needed. You know, there are menus, there are brochures, there are just so many businesses, and then invitations and things. And I know there’s lots of that going on, but you would be shocked at how much signs and banners and tangible things are still valuable. They’re still needed,” she said.

Beyond printing services, M-Prints91 plans to expand into office supplies as well.

“We’re building our office supplies. We’re taking suggestions to do that efficiently. I don’t know if that’s a big thing, but that’s just something. Our main focus is printing, and you’ll have a list of things you can choose from,” Linda said.

Linda is excited to be part of Torrington’s downtown revitalization.

“Torrington downtown is rocking awesome, and I am just thankful to be a part of that,” she said.

After years of supporting her husband’s agricultural ventures, Linda is grateful for his support as she embarks on her own business journey.

“I’ve spent many years being alongside Brett in the farming business and in the seed business. You know, I’m just so thankful my husband was kind enough to support me on this venture. And he’s excited for me. And I’m doing my best to be a part of both of those – Meyer Seeds business and now M-Prints91 on Main,” Linda said.

“I couldn’t have opened my dream of a print shop without Stephanie Marks. She went through the remodel, equipment and inventory moving, and all the setup with me. I am thankful for her,” Linda said.

“Also, if I can say thank you to my family and friends who stepped in with a smile and hard work to help with the remodel. Along with the amazing contractors here in Torrington and Lingle – Anderson Carpet, Goshen County Contractors, High Point Electric and Longs HVAC,” Linda added.

“We’re just so excited to serve the community, connect with people and give them products that build their lives,” Linda concluded.
