Youth Series Rodeo closing in on finals

TORRINGTON – The Torrington Youth Series Rodeo held its sixth rodeo of the summer Wednesday, with two more slated for the season.
There are eight rodeos open to 5-14-year-olds during the summer. Awards are given to the top competitors in each division and each event. To qualify for an award, a participant needs to compete in at least six of the eight summer rodeos.
There was a rodeo last night after press time as part of the Goshen County Fair. The final rodeo of the summer and where the awards will be presented is set for Aug. 2 at the Goshen County Fairgrounds starting at 6 p.m.
Here are the results from the sixth rodeo of the summer:
11-14 Boys Goat Tying – 1. Cory James Bomhoff, Cheyenne, 10.8 seconds; 2. Tate Talkington, Scottsbluff, Neb., 12.4 seconds; 3. Jaxon Farella, Cheyenne, 12.8 seconds.
11-14 Girls Goat Tying – 1. Danielle Brow, Wheatland, 11.0 seconds; 2. Clara Petersen, Torrington, 11.4 seconds; 3. Rayne Grant, Wheatland, 12.6 seconds.
