CHEYENNE – The 98th Annual Wyoming FFA Association State Convention was held April 9-12 on the campus of Laramie County Community College in Cheyenne.
The Wyoming FFA Association is comprised of 4,163 members and 67 chapters.
FFA Competitions are unique in that all schools, regardless of size classification compete against one another.
Aside from competing, area members also attended nightly leadership sessions and had the opportunity to hear keynote presentations from Governor Mark Gordon and the First lady of Wyoming, Senator Cynthia Lummis and Representative Harriett Hageman, all of which are Wyoming FFA Alumni.
Students also got to hear from National FFA Officers as they delivered messages about leadership to the delegations.

FFA Advisor Jason Groene said he is extremely proud of his students’ performances at State Convention, especially considering the average age of those competing for THS-LFL was a freshman.
“Of the 17 Career and Leadership Events that were entered by Torrington/Lingle FFA members, 14 of those teams or individuals were top 10 finishers and the other three were top 20 finishers out of 67 chapters. 12 of our 42 members were in the top ten high individuals in their respective CDE/LDE,” he gushed.
“For example: If a specific CDE had 161 FFA members competing and our members finished 6th overall, that particular Torrington/Lingle member would be in the 97th percentile of competitors at the 2025 convention,” Groene further explained of the results.
In what Groene said is perhaps the most prestigious award given last week, Goshen County brought home the Reserve Champion Mullet worn by Colter “Big John Stud” McFarlin.
The State Convention concluded with installation of the 2025-26 State Officer team.
