TORRINGTON – The Torrington Trailblazers boys soccer team defended its home pitch in a 3-0 Senior Night win over Buffalo on Saturday.
“Today, we played a very solid game, but we just had a hard time getting a rhythm started,” coach Jeshua Arnusch said. “We ended up capitalizing on our opportunities for the most part and I thought we did a solid job of keeping possession.”
Senior A.J. Shields got the action started, finding himself with possession behind the Bison keeper, nailing a goal in the ninth minute to put Torrington up 1-0. Just before halftime, Ethan Creagar took a free kick around 30 yards out and sailed it into the top right corner of the goal, giving Torrington a 2-0 lead heading into halftime.
