Torrington XC boys take sixth in Gering

GERING, Neb. – The Torrington Trailblazer boys cross-country team finished with 96 team points, finishing sixth in the team standings Friday at the Gering Invitational.
William Fluckiger led the way for the Blazers, taking 19th with a time of 19:42.96. Quentin Meyer was not far behind, clocking a time of 20:09.66, finishing 23rd. Rounding out the top five for Torrington was Pake Haun (20:29.53), Jacob Polkowske (20:39.24) and Cameron Juma (21:02.75), sliding into 26th, 28th and 32nd.
Jaiden Hopkins paced the Lady Blazers in the girls race, finishing 34th with a time of 25:35.22. Renee Cline turned in a time of 25:44.78 to take 38th, while Shelby Schainost slid into 42nd with a time of 26:39.91.
Torrington also had four runners compete in JV races. Anthony Munoz had the best JV finish, clocking a time of 21:10.25, earning 12th. Tristan Kingsley (18th) and Jesse Lay (25th) rounded out the Torrington boys in the JV races, running times of 21:42.96 and 21:58.90. Brittany Schalger ran in the girls JV race, taking 39th with a time of 30:08.05.
Torrington returns to competitive action Friday for the Kimball, Neb. Invittional.
