Southeast girls fourth at Burns, boys eighth

The Southeast High School track team put in a solid performance at the Burns Invitational and athletes returned with a bag filled with hardware. The Lady Cyclones secured fourth place overall with 83 team points, while the boys placed eighth with 37 points.

Junior Kannon Tippetts won the boys; 400-meters, clocking in at 52.83 seconds. Tippetts went on to place second in the 800-meters at 2:17.70.

Senior Wyatt Gladson took second place in the 400-meters with a time of 54.38 seconds.

Gladson, Tippetts, sophomore T.J. Maots and junior William Knowlton pulled into second place in the 4x400-meter relay at 3:51.65.

In girls' throwing events, senior Harper Boche garnered gold in the shot put, hitting a mark of 38 feet, 1 inch. Boche also secured third place in the discus at 107-03 1/2.

Freshman Haylee Ekwall snagged second place in the shot put with a toss of 34-11 1/2.

Sophomore Kaycee Kosmicki earned second place in the 400-meters at 1:01.34.

Junior Anna Hartman captured third place in the 1600-meters with a time of 7:19.84.

Freshman Bailey Mehling snapped up second place in the triple jump, posting a mark of 33-06.

Mehling, sophomore Molly Hasbargen, Kosmicki and senior Sasha Haines placed third in the 4x100-meter relay at 53.89 seconds. The 4x400-relay team – freshman Lizzy Boche, Mehling, Haines and Kosmicki – also placed third at 4:34.75. Hasbargen, Boche, senior Kylee Llewellyn and Haines took third place in the 1600-meter sprint medley relay at 5:16.99.
