BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS of GOSHEN COUNTY, WYOMING
Tuesday, May 19, 2026
The Board of County Commissioners of Goshen County, Wyoming, met in regular session on the above date at 9:00 a.m. at the Goshen County Courthouse in the Commissioners’ Chambers with the following members present: Chairman Michael McNamee, Commissioners Justin Burkart and Aaron Walsh, and Mary Feagler, County Clerk & Clerk of the Board. The meeting opened with the Pledge of Allegiance. Commissioner Burkart moved to approve today’s revised agenda & the minutes from the May 5th meeting, seconded & passed. Chairman McNamee’s opening comments were gratitude for the moisture, congratulations to area graduates for high school & college graduations, and gratitude for the ambition & thoughtfulness of Cheri Steinmetz for requesting the Resolution to declare a drought emergency for Goshen County.
A representative from the Sheriff’s Office was not present. Chairman McNamee reported the Sheriff’s earnings for April: Office: $1,875.00; Commissary: $1,885.09. Commissioner Walsh moved to approve the Sheriff’s Office & Commissary Earning Reports, seconded & passed.
County Treasurer Leticia Dominguez did not report as she was attending a Treasurer’s meeting in Cody.
County Clerk Mary Feagler presented the updated Warrant Report. Commissioner Walsh moved to accept the Clerk’s Report & updated Warrant Report, seconded & passed. Feagler presented Resolution 2026-11. Commissioner Burkart moved to adopt the resolution to appoint a Special Prosecutor, seconded & passed.
In his role of Emergency Management Coordinator, Thom Bozeman presented Resolution 2026-12 to accept the Emergency Management Preparedness Grant award of $38,549.00. Commissioner Burkart moved to adopt the resolution, seconded & passed.
Library Board Member, Ellen Creager, announced the Library Report would be submitted in writing.
Amy Smith, Agriculture & Natural Resources Educator, and Shelbie Hanlon, 4-H Youth Development Educator, reported for the Extension Office. A discussion ensued on the outdoor lighting & security cameras Amy has requested be installed. The 4-H program has a summer intern and they are excited to have the additional help.. Commissioner Walsh moved to accept the Extension Report, seconded & passed.
