TORRINGTON – The Torrington High School cheerleading team punched its ticket to the state championships in Casper on January 24 for the first time in nine years.
The Wyoming State Cheer and Dance Spirit Competition takes place at the Ford Wyoming Center on Friday. Torrington will compete in the 3A gameday division against 11 other teams.
The team took the opportunity to perform their gameday routine before the home crowd at the halftimes for both the girls and boys varsity basketball games against Burns on January 17.
The NFHS Network will broadcast the state spirit competition (for a subscription fee) throughout the day. Results will also be posted on the WHSAA website on Friday.
Kelsey Grant and Keely Leo coach the Torrington High School cheerleading team. Seniors on the team include Tiffany Krueger and Kaleigh Waymire. The roster consists of Taylor Cushman, Addie Hagger, Tiffany Krueger, Ava Mattis, Lily McKimmey-Michael, Kayleigh Norton, Hadassah Priest, Frankie Saland, Kaleigh Waymire, Lilly Wilhelm and Briella Wolfe.
