YODER – Faith Anderson, 10, of Yoder, made her state speaking debut recently in front of a host of state officials after being named the winner in the Wyoming State Arbor Day Poster Contest.
Anderson, a home-schooled fourth grader, gave her first public speech in front of Gov. Matt Mead and other Wyoming dignitaries on April 24. The Wyoming State Forestry Division and Wyoming Project Learning Tree (WY PLT) teamed up again this year to host the contest. The annual contest is open to all Wyoming fourth and fifth grade students, including home-schooled, private and public.
When she heard about the poster art contest, Anderson thought it would be fun to enter. The day the call came announcing her as the winner she screamed with excitement, her parents said in a press release.
