LINGLE – On Friday afternoon at approximately 4 p.m., Lingle Police Chief, Endra Andrews, received a call from a Lingle homeowner reporting a vehicle had run through and left significant damage to a fence on property at the corner of Leiter Avenue and US Highway 26-85.

According to Andrews, there were no injuries to the homeowner, but unknown at this time if the driver had sustained any.

Andrews additionally stated parts of the vehicle were found at the scene of the incident including a wheel-well cover, as well as front and end lighting trim which belongs to a 2019-2022 Hyundai Genesis G70.

It is believed at this time the driver was headed eastbound on 26-85, lost control of the vehicle, and promptly drove off. The fence is located on the north side of the highway.

“It would be nice if the driver took responsibility for the damage,” Andrews stated. “Frankly I don’t know how the car drove off because the model is a small car and went through a lot of posts and cinderblocks.”

Andrews received the call after patrolling all day Friday and had just gotten home after finishing late afternoon duties.

“We have their wheel well cover and lighting trim if they want it back,” Andrews said. “I drove by that location at about 4 p.m. and did not see anything. I was called shortly after with notification by the homeowner someone had driven through his fence. I had been running traffic all day and had just gotten home and out of my uniform.”

If you have any information regarding the driver of a 2019-2022 Hyundai Genesis G70, please call the Lingle Police Department at 307-837-2626.
