LINGLE – Mayor Micah Foster called the Lingle Town Council meeting to order Wednesday, March 19 at 6 p.m. In attendance were council members Kathy Wilhelm and Tabitha Lambert. Council member Shelly Duncan appeared via phone and council member Jeff Jerome was absent. The meeting was opened with the Pledge of Allegiance and a motion to approve the evening’s agenda.
Wilhelm made a motion to accept the agenda which was seconded by Lambert. The motion carried by vote and the council moved on to approving the minutes for the March 5 meeting minutes as presented. The minutes were approved and the council moved on to departmental reports.
In absences of Lingle Chief of Police Endra Andrews, Foster relayed things had been pretty normal for Andrews.
Town attorney, Anna Barnes, was also absent and the council moved on to the maintenance report from Logan Dailey.
“First thing I have is tomorrow, I have our annual board meeting for Wyoming Municipal Power. We’ll be going over the budget and everything, getting that established,” Dailey said. “Then, April 15 through the 18, I’ll be done for Wyoming Rural Water Conference.”
Dailey noted someone would be in contact with the council regarding Arbor Day celebrations with the school. Dailey further explained the trees had been ordered but needed picked up.
“We’re in the process of hiring a new summer helper. We have call three applicants for interviews and so far, two have responded,” Dailey said. “Then, on June 9 through the 16 will be our community cleanup. We got the arrangement with TDS set up so that we can get those roll-off containers and get that process rolling as well. It’s June, but it’ll be here before we know it.”
Dailey advised the council the department was able to patch the senior center roof and he has contacted a few roofing companies to come look at the roof. The ceiling tiles inside were also replaced. Dailey stated since the repairs, there haven’t been any leaks.
“As far as the landfill, we got another bid today. Now we have two bids,” Dailey said.
Dailey reminded the council members and members of the public in attendance the bid would be for a 60x80 post frame building with a dirt floor.
“Basically, two garage doors, one walkthrough door that would be to house the trash and everything so it’s not blowing inti the neighbor’s property like it has been with this one. For the record, we have gone and picked that up,” Dailey said. “But that’s what the bids were. We’ve gotten four bids in total. We’re still taking bids.”
Lambert stated there wasn’t much to report for the fire department. Both Lambert and Dailey reminded the council and community the fire department’s Easter egg hunt will be held on April 12. Lambert reported tender truck one had returned from South Dakota where a team was on a federal assignment for fire suppression.
Under administrative items, clerk/treasurer Ritch Reyes noted he was working on the electrical report for the state and taking care of the office.
Moving on to new business, the council approved Dailey as the Wyoming Rural Water Voting Delegate.
“That’ll be the same as the Wyoming Rural Water Conference, but they do have a board meeting on that Friday, “Dailey said. “During the board meeting, they ask that each municipality appoint a delegate to go to that meeting and be a voting member for Wyoming Rural Water.”
The council then moved on to approve Reyes as the Wyoming Association of Municipalities Voting Delegate.
However, the council tabled approving a nomination of Nakisha Garner to WAM-JPIC Health Insurance Board and Garner’s approval of attending the Wyoming Municipal Court Conference was also tabled for the next meeting.
The council next discussed the town donating to the hazardous waste collection day and after a brief discussion, the council voted to not make a contribution to the collection day.
With no other council items to discuss, Foster adjourned the meeting at 6:14 p.m. The next Lingle Town Council meeting will be Wednesday, April 9 at 5 p.m.
