TORRINGTON – On Wednesday, families and friends gathered at Torrington High School for a heartwarming Winter Showcase featuring the Lincoln Elementary School kindergarten students. The event, led by music teacher Diana Fittje, gave the young performers a chance to share their love for the winter season through song. Each kindergarten class took the stage to sing a song. Students also shared what they love most about winter. Ms. Munoz’ class kicked off the showcase with a performance of I Get a Happy Feeling by D. Gangé. Next, Ms. Bartels’ class sang Little Snowflake from Super Simple Songs. Mr. Pilington’s class then presented Snowman Joe by Craig Cassils. Ms. Speckner’s class continued the snowman theme with I’m a Little Snowman by Super Simple Songs. Ms. Jernigan’s class brought out jingle bells for Jingle, Jingle Little Bell by Super Simple Songs. The whole group finished out the showcase with Play the Bells to Celebrate by D. Gangé which featured many of the students with percussion instruments. The highlight of the showcase, though, was the enthusiasm for music and the joy of the holidays that was so clearly on the face of the children.
