LFSE wrestling opens season with trio of wins

SUNDANCE – The Lingle-Fort Laramie/Southeast wrestling team opened the season with a three dominating wins at the season-opening Sundance Quadrangular over the weekend.

LFSE defeated Sundance 66-6 and knocked off Hulett 42-23. The team capped off the day with a 54-18 win over Tongue River.

Seven wrestlers finished the day undefeated for LFSE.

Grant Logsdon, who is the preseason No. 1 ranked Class 2A wrestler at 106 pounds, Kaleb Brothwell, No. 5 ranked at 120 pounds, Brock Blevins, No. 1 ranked at 113 pounds, Jaden Houk, No. 7 ranked at 126 pounds, Will Baker, No. 1 ranked at 285 pounds and Ethan Steinhausen all finished the day 3-0. Wyatt Sylvester finished the day with a 2-0 mark.

Cooper Fauber, Taylor Swartwood also picked up two wins on the day while also suffering one loss.

Remington Bremer, Josie Houk and Jessy Valenine ended the day with a 1-1 mark.

The LFSE team heads to Lusk on Saturday to face Burns/Pine Bluffs, Glenrock and Niobrara County. Action gets underway at 10 a.m. at the Tiger Gym.
