BAYARD – The Lingle-Fort Laramie (LFL) boys track team struck gold at the 2025 Bayard CD track invitational on Saturday, April 5, tying with Burns for the No. 1 spot on the leaderboard out of 14 schools competing with 101 points.

The LFL Lady Doggers battled their way to the No. 2 position on the team leaderboard out of 16 schools, posting 72 points.

Both teams returned to Wyoming with top-eight medals, new PRs and five new state qualifying relay combinations. The Doggers scooped up five gold medals while the girls captured gold in the 4x400-meter relay.

“The boys and girls teams had great days in Bayard,” coach Mike Lashley said. “This meet is the most competitive 1A/2A and C/D meet we attend all season. There are some tremendous track and field teams in the Wyo-Braska area and they all attend this meet. For our boys to share the championship with Burns and our girls to earn runner-up at a meet of this caliber shows the potential our teams have.”

The weather turned out perfectly for a track meet on Saturday, Lashley added.

“We were pleased with the improvement we saw from week one but we recognize there is still work to be done in others,” Lashley remarked.
