TRINIDAD, Colo. – The Eastern Wyoming College volleyball team is still searching for its first win of the season after an 0-4 trip to Trinidad State Junior College.
On day one, the Lady Lancers fell to Hutchinson (Kansas) Community College, 3-1.
EWC won set one 25-21 but dropped the next three sets 25-20, 25-11, 25-19.
Freshman Ana Djurovic led the team with 12 kills, while Halle Hogan added six. Freshmen Hannah Pharr and Avery West had three each. Djurovic also tallied a team-high four aces, while Hogan had three.
Later in the day, the Lady Lancers fell to tournament host Trinidad State 3-1. Trinidad State won the first set 25-16, and EWC evened the match scored at one with a 25-23 set two win. Sets three and four went to Trinidad State 25-20 and 25-13.
On Saturday, Eastern Wyoming fell to Frank Phillips (Texas) College, 3-0 (25-19, 27-25, 25-14).
The Lady Lancers wrapped up play with a 3-1 loss to Otero (Colorado) Junior College on Saturday afternoon.
No stats were available from the last three matches.
EWC travels to McCook (Nebraska) Invitational Sept. 2-3. The Lady Lancers play Butler (Kansas) Community College at 10 a.m. and Iowa Western Community College at 2 p.m. On Saturday, EWC faces Otero Junior College at 8 a.m. and Colby (Kansas) Community College at 1 p.m.
