LINGLE – The Lingle-Fort Laramie Lady Doggers put up 30 points in the second half in a comeback effort, but fell short to Morrill, Neb. on Tuesday, 47-43.
The Lady Doggers got off to a slow start, with only eight points in the first quarter and five in the second. At halftime, LFL was down 22-13.
“It’s tough to secure a lead when you have 17 turnovers in a half,” coach Matt Cornelius said. “Our defense was exemplary but our offense wasn’t.”
After intermission, the Lady Doggers poured in 16 points in the third quarter and 14 points in the fourth, while allowing eight in the third and 17 in the fourth. With 4:30 remaining, LFL was down by only two points, but it could not complete the comeback.
