CASPER – The Southeast Lady Cyclones limited Rocky Mountain to 33 points in an opening round win for the Lady Cyclones at the 2A State Tournament, earning Southeast a spot in the semi-finals.
The two teams started even this evening, with Southeast holding a narrow 12-10 edge after the first frame. Ellie Schmitt came on strong late in the first half and aided Southeast on its way to a 19-16 lead at the break.
Late in the third quarter, Whitney Foos had an old-fashioned three-pointer to add more distance, putting Southeast up 32-22 heading into the final frame. The Lady Cyclones poured in 10 the fourth to seal the 42-33 win.
With the victory, Southeast advanced to the semi-final game tomorrow at 6 p.m. at the Casper Events Center. The Lady Cyclones will play the winner between Lusk and Wyoming Indian.
