GOSHEN COUNTY – The Goshen County Kiwanis Club has announced it will receive support from a grant provided by the Roy and Gloria Dinsdale Foundation.
Kiwanis International is deeply committed to its mission of enhancing the well-being of children. The Goshen County chapter exemplifies this mission through its proactive approach to meeting local needs and building partnerships to create meaningful change.
Through initiatives such as providing Thanksgiving food boxes, collaborating with 4-H, and supporting local families in need, the Kiwanis Club’s impact is felt year-round. This grant underscores the organization’s dedication to fostering positive change for area families and children, specifically by providing aid to a local family facing challenges.
The Roy and Gloria Dinsdale Foundation, established in 2022, aims to bolster rural communities by funding essential services such as food, housing, and clothing, as well as initiatives in healthcare, education, and the arts. This grant aligns with the Foundation’s mission to empower communities and enrich lives.
“This grant reflects what Kiwanis stands for—neighbors helping neighbors, coming together to support families, and ensuring children in our community have the best chance to thrive,” Quinn Hunter, a representative of the Goshen County Kiwanis Club said. “We are grateful to the Roy and Gloria Dinsdale Foundation for recognizing and supporting our efforts.”
As pandemic-era support programs come to an end, many families face gaps in essential services. According to the USDA, 13.8 million children experienced food insecurity in 2024, a significant increase from previous years. A recent study from the National Academy of Sciences demonstrates the negative outcomes associated with child poverty stem directly from a lack of resources. The study also highlights that assistance for families improves children’s short- and long-term health, educational success, and economic outcomes.
Organizations like the Kiwanis Club are stepping in to fill these gaps in the local community. For more information about supporting the Kiwanis Club’s work or becoming a member, call 307-532-2181 or visit the Kiwanis Club of Goshen County’s Facebook page.
