GOSHEN COUNTY – A successful 2024-2025 winter basketball season culminated in 11 all-state and all-conference awards for the 1A classification and SEWAC in Goshen County from the Wyoming Coaches Association.

Award winners are organized alphabetically by school and last name.

LFL boys

Anthony Arnusch

Awards: 1A all-conference (2A all-conference in 2024), all-SEWAC (earned award in 2024)

Key stats: 247 points, 63 rebounds, 64 assists, 50 steals

Conference/all-class leader: No. 1 in conference for 3-point shooting percentage (37 percent).

Coach Chris Cook called Arnusch the “engine that starts our team.”

“Anthony is our fearless point guard,” coach Cook added. “He is a tremendous ball handler and a great defender. In many games, he drew the other team’s best defender and completely took them out of the game. Anthony takes tremendous pride in his defense.”

Offensively, Arnusch acts as the “coach on the floor,” coach Cook continued.

“Anthony handles the pressure most teams try to bring by himself,” coach Cook said. “This is not an easy task and Anthony has worked countless hours on his ball handling skills. Many times, he recognizes things we need to get into before I call them out. He is a really bright young man and a guy I am so glad to call our point guard.”

Brady Cook

Awards: 1A all-conference (earned 2A all-conference in 2023 and 2024), 1A all-state (earned 2A all-state in 2024), 1A Southeast Conference player of the year, all-SEWAC (earned award in 2023 and 2024)

Key stats: 439 points, 253 rebounds (team leader), 106 assists, 56 steals and 73 blocks (team leader)

Conference/all-class leader: No. 1 in conference for field goal percentage (64 percent), No. 1 in all classifications for field goal percentage (64 percent)

Career milestones: 1,000 career points (1,200-plus and counting), 14 season slam dunks

Cook is an exceptional post player, said coach Cook.

“Brady is our true post player most teams in Wyoming do not have,” coach Cook added. “He works hard on both ends of the floor to earn that role. He had to guard the other team’s best player in a few games and completely disrupted what they wanted to do. Brady is our rim protector and our leading rebounder. He takes great pride in controlling the boards.”

Offensively, Cook is an “incredibly consistent shooter,” coach Cook remarked.

“Brady has led all classes both years in total field goal percentage,” coach Cook said. “This is a product of great passing from his teammates as well as great shot selection on Brady’s part.”

Brody Roberts

Awards: 1A all-conference (earned 2A all-conference in 2024), 1A all-state and SEWAC player of the year (earned award 2022-2024)

Key stats: 477 points (team leader), 127 rebounds, 155 assists (team leader), 89 steals (team leader) and 23 blocks

Conference/all-class leader: No. 1 all-class for assists (5.2/game), No. 1 in conference for assists (5.2/game)

Career milestones: 1,000 career points (total in excess of 1,400 points)

Roberts was the Doggers’ leader on and off the court, coach Cook remarked.

“Brody embraced this role very well and was a huge reason why we were so successful,” coach Cook added. “Brody genuinely cared for all his teammates – something I really admire about him. Brody was a great defender. His overall game has grown tremendously over the last two seasons and he has done whatever we needed him to do.”

Roberts transitioned from serving primarily as a guard to a forward this season.

“(Roberts and Brady Cook) had incredible chemistry and were able to work together like few high school guys are ever able to do,” coach Cook continued. “With his commitment to become a great finisher at the rim, he finished the season at 64 percent field goal.”

Skyler Thomas

Awards: 1A all-conference

Key stats: 68 points, 74 rebounds, 82 assists, 27 steals and two blocks

Coach Cook described Thomas as a “great” defender and passer.

“Skyler embraced these roles and did them very well,” coach Cook added. “On several nights, he drew the other team’s best player. Skyler controlled the game himself with the ability to disrupt what that player wanted to do.”

On offense, Thomas demonstrated “incredible vision,” coach Cook said.

“Skyler anticipates where a pass should go so well,” coach Cook continued. “He is also able to execute the pass to teammates. Skyler was our primary out-of-bounds play in-bounder. He threw the correct pass for our team to score on so many of these opportunities.”
