TORRINGTON – The Southeast Cyclones held on in a back-and-forth affair with the Upton Bobcats on Thursday in the opening round of the 2A East Regional Tournament, winning 59-54.

Brady Fullmer started the game hot, scoring Southeast's first seven points. By the end of the frame, Southeast was behind Upton 16-15, with the other six of the Southeast points coming from Kaden Malm. A three at the halftime horn gave Upton a 30-28 lead at intermission.

Returning to the floor, Southeast kept pace with the Bobcats and a pass from Brant Fullmer to Sawyer Anderson led to a layup at the end of the third, giving Southeast the 45-43 lead. The Cyclones hit their free throws down the stretch and held on for the 59-54 win.

With the win, the Cyclones advance to the semi-finals at Eastern Wyoming College, where they are set to take on Wright tomorrow at 8:30 p.m. The Panthers beat Lusk earlier today 72-41.
