ENCAMPMENT – The Southeast High School Cyclones basketball team regained its momentum with a 43-39 cliffhanger victory against Encampment on the road on February 1.

On Thursday, Southeast came up short against the Lingle-Fort Laramie (LFL) Doggers in an exciting, down-to-the-wire rivalry game. The Cyclones controlled the scoreboard through a good portion of the first half. LFL ultimately pulled ahead in third quarter to post the win, 65-53.

The Cyclones are currently the No. 3 seed in the 1A Southeast Conference with a 10-7 overall record.

“It is a long bus ride to Encampment and that is always a challenge,” coach Craig Leithead said. “We figured out a way to win and came together in a game with a little bit of a different style of basketball. We did a nice job getting the ball around and rebounding. Against Lingle, we had a plan and came out really firing on all cylinders and not turning over the ball as much as we have. The boys played really hard.”
